Wound Healing Program
Our Wound Healing Program is designed to relieve pressure and promote healing.
Our interdisciplinary wound care team treats all wounds, including:
- Pressure sores (decubitus ulcers)
- Peripheral Vascular Ulcers
- Diabetic ulcers
- Burns
- Surgical Incisions
We have developed a formal Wound Healing Program with an innovative and extensive protocol. The basis for this clinical program is Prevention — as we feel it is our responsibility to do all in our power to prevent skin breakdown. Our mission is to promote healing and prevent further skin breakdown. We have a formal Wound Rounds Team — a group of professionals whose fields of expertise all contribute to enhancing wound care. Under the guidance of our Medical Director and a specially trained nurse, these professionals include physicians assistants, rehabilitation therapists, dietitians, and nursing staff. The Wound Rounds Team provides initial risk assessment for skin breakdown potential, performs weekly rounds to the residents and staff work together to help reduce the risk of infection, promote healing and enhance the comfort and dignity of our residents.
Professional expertise and compassion is supported with the most advanced state of the art products on the market specially designed to relieve pressure, promote healing and prevent skin breakdown.
State of the Art Equipment: specialty beds, mattresses and cushions are part of the comprehensive wound care program.
Our team of caring professionals is experienced and credentialed to provide the necessary individualized care in these clinical areas. We provide a plan of care that encourages the patient to accomplish specific goals and function independently. Each patient’s progress is monitored daily in order to determine changes in treatment and therapeutic needs.
